Legacy High School student Nathan Kostelecky has been nominated as a CTE Presidential Scholar for North Dakota. He is one of five students statewide who had their names submitted to the Commission on Presidential Scholars. Nathan has been in the Carpentry program and two Engineering classes at the Bismarck Public Schools Career Academy.
Wayne Kutzer, State Director and Executive Officer for the North Dakota Department of Career and Technical Education, says, "It is quite an accomplishment for a student to be nominated; it speaks to their commitment to and ability in their CTE program."
Dale Hoerauf, Director of the BPS Career Academy, says, "He is well deserving of this CTE Presidential Scholarship. He was Student of the Year in the Carpentry program last year, for example. Also, teacher Laura Sturn deserves credit for helping with Nathan's nomination process. We can be proud he is representing Bismarck Public Schools."
The Commission will review all nominations from across the country and selected nominees will be invited to apply for the next round of competition.
