Voting & Poll Information
Bismarck Public Schools Special Election
For Middle & High School Expansion/Renovation

Tue., March 7, 2017, 7 am-7 pm, at any Bismarck public school (see list below).

Poll Workers Needed:
If you are 16 and older and want to work the polls (paid position) for the March 7 election, please contact jeni_iverson@bismarckschools.org, 701-323-4058, as soon as possible. If you want to work at a specific school, she will try to accommodate your request.

Absentee Ballot Info:
1. To download an absentee ballot application starting January 20: go to www.bismarckschools.org under the green Bond Election 2017 tab on the left. Absentee ballots must be postmarked prior to March 7.

2. To request a mailed application starting January 20: call 701-323-4058, email jeni_iverson@bismarckschools.org, or mail your request to the Business Office, 806 N. Washington St., Bismarck, ND 58501. Absentee ballots must be postmarked prior to March 7.

3. To complete the absentee application & ballot in person starting January 26, go to the Hughes Educational Center, 806 N. Washington St., anytime between 8 am and 4 pm, Monday-Friday. The last day to vote absentee at Hughes is Monday, March 6, by 5 pm.

Eligible Voters:
Anyone ages 18 and older who is a resident of the Bismarck Public School District, which includes the City of Lincoln.

Ballot Language:
Shall Bismarck Public School District No. 1 of Burleigh County, North Dakota, issue its general obligation bonds in the amount not to exceed $57,500,000, maturing within a maximum of 20 years, resulting in an estimated additional millage of 8.86 mills, equal to $8.86 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation for the first taxable year, for the purpose of providing funds, together with any other funds available, to expand, renovate, remodel and equip Bismarck High School, Century High School, Horizon Middle School, Simle Middle School and Wachter Middle School; to construct and equip additions to school buildings; to remodel, renovate, improve and equip school buildings; and to make site improvements to school property.
